Barbed Wire Belt is a cool and quick to crochet “tie belt” style that can be wrapped around the waist or worn folded in half so that the two ends can be pulled through the loop to close around the lower waist. There are no ends to weave in. Work one row and you’re done, biker babe.
I can’t imagine a better yarn for this project than Jelly Yarntm. You get all the advantages of an edgy look with none of the edgy drawbacks (the barbed belt won’t poke you while you wear it). Jelly Yarn(tm) is a new experience for many crocheters. It’s more bouncy and rubbery than stiff, and plays with light like no other yarn out there.
Pattern features plenty of tips for using Jelly Yarntm and making the special "Manatee" stitch, which I developed for this pattern. (it’s a variation on the Clones Knot--an old Irish crochet lace classic). It’s magical in jelly because you can see the stitch’s innards. By the way, whether you’re into crocheting jewelry or intimidating your enemies, this is a valuable stitch to know.
